The steam cleaning of curtains is usually the most effective way to clean your curtains of accumulated dust, dirt and allergens, although many curtains can only be dry cleaned. Our technician will ascertain whether or not they can be wet cleaned on our initial inspection.

With Our POWERFUL 6 Step Curtain Cleaning Process
STEP 1: PRE VACUUM
All curtain surfaces are vacuumed with a wet & dry vacuum cleaner using a crevice tool and curtain nozzle as appropriate. Working deep into creases, crevices and folds paying particular attention to the ruffle band, all loose dirt, dust and fluff are removed.
STEP 2: STAIN REMOVAL`
All marks on the curtains are tested with spot cleaner to see if spillages are spots or stains.
Stains are pre-treated with a stain removing agent to minimise the
amount of moisture available for absorption by the Curtain and lining. Particular attention is paid to tobacco deposits in smoking rooms and stains from handling. The spot cleaner is left for several minutes to work on loosening the stains prior to being absorbed with clean white Terry Towels. The remaining solution is vacuumed out to ensure maximum stain removal.
Room windows are opened to aid air movement, which speeds drying times.
STEP 3: CLEANING SOLUTION
A suitable pre conditioner is applied to the curtain fabric which loosens and emulsifies the soils and suspends them ready for extraction.
STEP 4: EXTRACTION CLEANING
An upholstery mitten or Terry Towel is immersed for 2 minutes in a neutralising hot solution and rung out as dry as possible and then the fabric is wiped with a downward motion (to retain the curtain shape) to remove the dirt from the fibres. Magnetic attraction attracts the dirt onto the pad leaving the curtain clean. Mitts are rinsed and the cleaning action repeated as necessary. A separate bucket of plain water is used when cleaning dirty or nicotined curtains.
STEP 5: SECONDARY EXTRACTION
The curtains are then vacuumed with a hot water extraction machine with as many passes as necessary to remove any moisture absorbed by the curtain during cleaning.
STEP 6: DEODORISE AND SANITISE
A dual sanitiser and deodoriser is sprayed across cleaned curtains to kill any residual bacteria that might breed in the damp fabrics. It also imparts a pleasant slow release smell.
